No clean running water

The story of Maged
Last year we received an application from our representative in Minya for a young man called Maged Nagib. In the application it was mentioned that the father of the family had died a short while before the application was made, the mother was a housewife, and they had 7 children. Their family income came from two sources: the monthly pension of the father (E£150 or £2.40) and the eldest brother's work in toiling some farmland. The family lived in a house with no clean water and no toilet either.
We took Maged on board, as one of our sponsored students, when he was in his last year of secondary school as he desperately needed financial support. He was working hard and wanted to go on to study medicine at university.
In his gratitude, we received a from him this summer…
I would like to thank you but I do not have the words to convey my gratitude to you. Thank you so much for your help and for your support.
Your aid went beyond being just money. It has transformed not only my life but also the life of my widowed mother and my siblings. I even managed to save a bit from my monthly grant during the summer months and together with my brother we paid for a clean water plumbing to be installed and built a toilet as well.
I also passed my exams and I can confirm that I will be studying in medical school from the following academic year, which is what I had dreamed to do. So, I am beyond happy. May God bless you and all of the donors, for the life-changing help and support you've given me.
